Shooting in Ithaca: Two victims hospitalized, one suspect at-large

Police in Ithaca are investigating a shooting, which involved at least two victims during the early-morning hours of Thursday.

On Thursday at approximately 1:45 am IPD officers were on a routine patrol near West State St. and Fulton St. when they heard gunshots, according to a report from the Ithaca Police Department.

Officers responded in the direction of the shots fired and quickly located one victim of a gunshot wound in the parking lot of Chuck’s Mobil Gas Station. Officers were simultaneously notified of a second gunshot victim who had fled from the Mobil Station northbound on North Meadow St. to the Fastrac parking lot.

Both victims are expected to survive their injuries.

The suspect is described as an approximately 5’10” light skinned, black male wearing a black hoodie style sweatshirt and jeans. He was last seen running from the scene eastbound around the 500 block of West State St.

Neither victim was identified by police.
