Physical altercation leads to charges for Seneca Falls student

On Thursday around 10:53 am members of the Seneca Falls Police Department arrested an 18-year-old student following an unprovoked physical altercation.

Police say Devin J. Verkey, 18, of Seneca Falls was arrested after he allegedly subjected a male less than 17-year-old to unwanted physical contact, which was witnessed by school staff and other students.

While no injuries were reported – police say that Verkey was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, as well as second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct.

The matter was investigated by the school resource officer, according to SFPD.

The charges will be answered in Seneca Falls Town Court on June 22nd.
