A Cato-Meridian Central School District Board of Education candidate who lost by five votes last month now has a seat at the table.
Monica Waite was appointed by the board at a meeting Monday night following board vice president L. Lee Epprecht’s resignation. Epprecht closed a deal on a home in Red Creek and moved from the school district in May and announced her resignation, effective July 1, at a meeting later that month.
Waite’s appointment to fill the void runs through the next annual school board vote in May 2018. An election to fill the remaining year of Epprecht’s term, which expires in 2019, will be held at that point.
