Two passengers stopped at Rochester airport with handguns in carry-on bags

Two handguns — one loaded and one not loaded — were discovered in carry-on bags at the Greater Rochester International Airport on Monday in two separate incidents.

The names of the two men detained by Transportation Security Administration officers were not released, but one is from Newark and the other from Hemlock.

The first gun was discovered via X-ray machine in the morning, a 9 mm that was loaded with seven bullets and also included a magazine that contained seven more bullets. A few hours later in the early afternoon, an unloaded gun and a magazine that contained six bullets were detected.
