Scattered showers, thunderstorms possible as heat pushed out

Cooler weather is coming for the Finger Lakes.

Not cool like the region experienced during May, where temperatures struggled to get up to “average.” The blistering heat is going to take a break from the region, which means that highs will be seasonable over the next couple days.

Tuesday will start warm, but as a cold front pushes south — a few showers and thunderstorms, which should be contained to the southern tier could pop up.

Most of the region should see temperatures start off pushing into the low-80s, but will drop back into the upper-70s by late-afternoon.

Wednesday and Thursday will be seasonably warm, but then unsettled weather will return to the region. Humid air will work back into the Finger Lakes over Friday, Saturday and Sunday — making for a soupy weekend in the Finger Lakes.

The risk for thunderstorms should keep high temperatures from reaching where they were over the weekend.
