Scorcher today, then seasonable warmth this week

Monday is going to be a hot and humid day.

High temperatures will match, or surpass Sunday’s highs, which means that 90 degree readings will not be uncommon. Dew points are going to push into the upper 60s, which will make it feel even more oppressive than it felt on Sunday.

A few places, according to FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil will challenge records set decades ago.

Ithaca for example, will have a serious chance at hitting the record high for this date, which is 91 degrees in 1973.

The National Weather Service says that temperatures will moderate behind the front, but only slightly — as daytime highs continue to exceed 80 degrees for most of the week.

Rain chances will be slight throughout the week, with the “best chance” for showers or even a soaking rain coming on Friday, according to forecasters.
