Jim Armstrong of Victor works to assist and retain mostly small businesses. He also helps them to grow and expand.
He’s been doing that for the Ontario County Industrial Development Agency since 2005 and for the Seneca County IDA since 2013.
The Seneca County IDA Board of Directors voted 8-0 Thursday to extend Armstrong’s contract for the rest of the year at a cost of $8,750.
“We get a pretty big bang for our buck with Jim. He interacts with companies that don’t usually seek IDA assistance, letting them know of energy grants and other things that can help them decide to come here or to stay here and grow,” said Bob Aronson, IDA executive director.
Board member Valerie Bassett said she supports Armstrong’s efforts but asked if the cost could be shared with the county.
