A Syracuse man has admitted to sending sexual messages to a 12-year-old girl from Cayuga County.
Joshua E. Mauro, of Syracuse pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree disseminating indecent material to minors, a class D felony.
In court, the 25-year-old told Judge Mark Fandrich that he engaged in “inappropriate contact” with the girl in November 2016. When pressed, Mauro acknowledged that he texted the victim — a 12-year-old from the town of Locke — and sent the child sexually graphic images while inviting her to partake in sexual acts.
Mauro could face a maximum of seven years in prison. However, Fandrich agreed to sentenced Mauro to no worse than one to three years in prison.
