Food trucks, craft beer accompany Auburn’s annual Duck Derby

Bachman5 beat out nearly 6,000 other rubber ducks in a race down the Owasco River to be crowned the 29th annual Auburn Kiwanis Memorial Day Duck Derby champion on Monday.

The winning duck belonged to Jayde Bachman, who turned her $5 donation to the Auburn Kiwanis club into a $3,000 grand prize.

All proceeds from the derby go directly to community organizations, such as Cayuga Centers, the Auburn Sports Boosters and the SPCA.

Former Duck Derby chairman Joe Manning said he was pleased with the turnout of the event, despite rainy weather earlier in the day.
