The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports that on May 29th a Galen man was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated.
Deputies arrested Aaron J. VanOpdurp, 24, of Galen after he allegedly backed down Pilgrimport Rd. in Lyons to pick up his mother who was on the side of the road, and he nearly struck her.
He was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, backing unsafely, parking on the roadway, and operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device.
He was arraigned in Lyons Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail.
