The state trooper seriously injured in a traffic stop last week continues to improve.
Trooper Craig S. Foglia has been at Strong Memorial Hospital since May 17, after the patrol car he was in was struck from behind by a pickup truck on the shoulder of Interstate 86 in Campbell, Steuben County. Foglia’s condition has been upgraded from guarded to satisfactory, a hospital spokesman said Friday.
“He’s doing great but still has a long road ahead of him,” said Trooper Mark O’Donnell, a state police spokesman. “We’re all cautiously optimistic that he will continue to improve each and every day.”
