Whether they are big or small, old or young, cat or dog, when new pets arrive at the Beverly Animal Shelter they are wary of their new location. Some adjust quickly, while others may take weeks to adjust. Nevertheless, they all hope that their stay will be short. Can you help shorten the stay of this week’s pet?
GOTTI
Pit mix, Gotti was very recently surrendered due to allergies in the family. He is a playful, good boy who knows the commands of sit, stay and down. Black (or is he dark, dark brown) and white, Gotti is crate-trained, housebroken and walks well on a leash. He is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered and micro-chipped before adoption.
POLLY
Quiet and shy, light brown, tiger girl Polly has been at BAS since mid-February after her owner passed away. She still misses her owner and would prefer a gentle home Without other Cats. Ten-year-old Polly is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, micro-chipped, and tested negative for both FIV and FeLeuk.
DAVE
You might want to call him Mr. Purrfect. Handsome Mr. Dave is a cuddly love. A recent arrival, he has longish, angora like, blackish gray fur with white feet and bib. Three-year-old Dave is declawed on his front feet. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, micro-chipped and tested negative for both FIV and Fe-Leuk.

The Thirteenth Annual Beverly Animal Shelter Yard Sale is scheduled for June 1, 2 and 3, from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Rodman Lott & Son Farm (Empire Farm Days site); 2973 Route 414, Seneca Falls.
Good, clean, usable items will be accepted for the sale at Lott’s every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm beginning April 22. Please no clothing, shoes, TVs, computer equipment or stuffed animals.

The Beverly Animal Shelter is currently offering potential “barn” cats – neutered/spayed and vaccinated, friendly, outdoor cats who are good mousers, for $10. Please contact the Shelter for more information.
The new Integrated Veterinary Service has begun at the Beverly Animal Shelter. Although held only once or twice a month, the long wait for spay or neutering has been greatly reduced! Call the Shelter to make your appointment. They are now taking reservations.

Unfortunately, The Purina Pets for Seniors Fund has been DISCONTINUED. However, BAS is attempting to continue Senior adoptions on an individual basis through the generosity of others.

Why not take the opportunity to spend some playtime with your favorite canine. The Dave Pullen Memorial Dog Park at the Beverly Animal Shelter is open Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm. It is located on the front center grounds at the Shelter and has a double-gated entrance. It is free to the public (though the Shelter always appreciates any donations!), but we do require you to stop by the shelter staff (at the store) to show proof of rabies and distemper vaccinations. We want everyone, including your dog safe! We also ask that you please clean up after your dog. Come on out and give your pup a chance to run off lead in a safe and enclosed environment!

Please keep in mind when you enter the Shelter grounds, to adhere to the 5mph speed limit. A very sweet but deaf cat that had lived at the shelter for 17 years was killed because someone sped through the drive.
Dallyn, along with the ASPCA, would like to remind all cat owners of the importance (after spay and neutering) of cat collars (safety or breakaway) with proper identification for outdoor cats. The Shelter is overwhelmed by “found” but unclaimed cats. The hope of the Shelter is to be able to reunite the lost felines with their owners. Many types of collars are available for cats. Please, if you have lost your dog or cat, DO CALL the shelter. Do not wait for an advertisement of “found dog/cat” to appear in the newspaper.
Please be a responsible pet owner. Spay and neuter your pets to prevent more unwanted animals. ONLY YOU can prevent the overflow of kittens that begins each Spring and carries on into the Fall.
