Ithaca High’s Michael Zhao won the singles title in Section 4 Tennis State Qualifiers on Saturday at the Binghamton Tennis Center and will be one of five Little Red players heading to the National Tennis Center in Flushing next month.
Zhao cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Maine-Endwell’s Freddy Purpora for the sectional title. Both qualified for states after winning semifinal matches Friday at the BTC.
