Assessor Mike Burns is gearing up for Auburn’s quadrennial citywide assessment reappraisal, a project that will review nearly 9,200 properties across the city between June and February.
The effort helps to maintain the city’s 100 percent assessed value to market value and ensure a fair and equitable commercial tax role, Burns told the Auburn City Council at its meeting Thursday evening.
“It’s a long and difficult process,” Burns said about assessing every property in the city. “It’s not easy.”
