Police: Seneca Falls man violates order of protection, throws victim to the ground

On Monday around 2:34 pm Seneca Falls Police arrested a 25-year-old man on multiple charges following a physical altercation.

Officers arrested Matthew A. Williams, 25, of Seneca Falls for first-degree criminal contempt – a felony, and second-degree harassment after he violated a a Class B order of protection.

Police say they were called to the scene of a domestic incident, which happened at Williams’ residence. He is accused of throwing a victim to the ground causing injuries – while that active, order of protection was set to protect that victim.

Williams was arraigned in Tyre Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 secured bond.

He will appear on May 23rd at 5:30 pm for a felony hearing.

Police say another order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
