One sent to hospital after Manchester crash

On Monday around 7:30 am deputies were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Deputies say that a 2015 Nissan operated by Melody Metz, 49, of Shortsville was northbound on State Route 21 at the intersection with State Route 96 when she was struck by a pickup truck operated by Emile Vailancourt, 73, of Clifton Springs.

Metz was transported via Shortsville Ambulance to Thompson Hospital for side and hip pain. There were no other injuries and the cause of the accident was found to be failure to yield the right of way, which included passing a red light.

She was ticketed for those violations.
