Captain Jack’s Goodtime Tavern, a Sodus Point spot familiar to many, hopes to re-open this week, days after Lake Ontario forced it to shut down.
But there are still other businesses in the area that could be feeling the impact of rising lake levels this summer.
“Captain Jack’s is right over here, where you see four, five, six hoses coming out of the building,” Steve Habecker, owner of a boat business, told 13WHAM News. “I don’t know if they’ll be able to open again, but right now they can’t be serving people.”
Habecker hopes he can weather the flooding.
“I’m gonna say we’re never gonna close,” he said.
