Cornell University students partied, relaxed and blew off a little steam Thursday during the annual Slope Day festivities to celebrate the end of the academic year.
Hundreds of students and some alumni gathered on Libe Slope as headline acts Misterwives and Big Gigantic took the stage in the early afternoon. The yearly tradition takes place in between the end of the academic year and exams. The final day of classes was Wednesday.
“I like going every year because it’s basically a music festival on campus,” senior Cal Jacoby said. “I’ve heard Slope Day used to be a wild time 20 years ago or so, and the university has done a good job of keeping the atmosphere but eliminating much of the bad stuff.”
