FIRST LOOK: Mother’s Day weekend calls for cold, rain in FLX

The forecast can always change, right?

After the seemingly endless rain, and below-average temperatures that have plagued the Finger Lakes over the last several weeks – everyone was hoping that the pattern would finally break.

According to many forecasts, it will happen – by the middle or end of next week.

However, we have one more hurdle to jump – and it happens to be Mother’s Day weekend.

The remainder of the week will feature temperatures in the 50s to low-60s. Certainly below average for this time of year, according to FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil – but tolerable compared to the recent 40s and 30s the region saw for overnight lows and daytime highs last weekend.

Montreuil says highs will struggle to reach 50 the two days, and a period of steady rain is likely on Saturday. The rest of the weekend will be gray and showery. Much like last weekend in the Finger Lakes.
