A Geneva man is facing felony DWI charges after a crash in the Village of Waterloo that happened on Sunday.
Wally J. Morabito, 46, of Geneva was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after crashing into a tree on West Wright Ave in Waterloo.
When officers arrived Morabito was walking away from the accident. A short foot pursuit ensued as he attempted to run from officers, but was taken into custody around Maple Grove Cemetery.
Officers say Morabito was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of .18 percent or higher, aggravated unlicensed operation, moving from lane unsafely, using a vehicle without an interlock device, refusal to submit to preliminary breath test, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
He was arraigned in Waterloo Village Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 secured bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Waterloo Court at a later date.
