Waterloo Village Board looks to move ahead with canal-to-downtown improvement project

The Village Board will take steps Tuesday night to move ahead with a canal-to-downtown improvement project.

The board is gathering Tuesday rather than its usual Monday meeting day because some village officials will be attending the New York State Conference of Mayors in Albany.

The village has received a state grant to upgrade the area from the north shore of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal through the municipal parking lot to the downtown commercial area.

The board will conduct a public hearing on the project concept at 7 p.m. A survey on the project has been completed, and later in the meeting the board will be asked to approve a motion to begin the final design process, subject to comments received at the public hearing.
