Cato-Meridian Central School District Superintendent Noel Patterson intends to retire in December because he feels it’s an ideal time to say goodbye.
“The district’s in good shape. We have high graduate rates, our academic performance is high, we have a good reputation, and our facilities are in great shape,” Patterson said this week.
The 62-year-old — who has been head of the district since 2009 — has 38 years of education experience.
His original plan was to retire last year, but the district’s longtime school business administrator, Crosby “Skip” Lamont, decided to retire himself, so Patterson decided to stay on longer to ensure a smooth transition.
