A 19-year-old Phelps man was arrested on Wednesday for driving under the influence of drugs.
Deputies charged Nicholas C. Pendergast for driving while ability impaired by drugs. He was stopped on Exchange St. in Phelps for a headlight that was out on the vehicle he was operating.
He submitted to a drug evaluation performed by a drug recognition expert, which revealed that he was driving while ability impaired by drugs.
He was issued citations and will answer the charges in Phelps Town Court at a later date.
