An Auburn business, which employs more than 100 people may be shutting down for good, according to documents obtained by multiple outlets.
Auburn Armature Inc., an electrical equipment distributor with facilities across the state has recently been sold, though the buyer has not been identified.
Through the sale, it might mean that the facility is shut down — resulting in the lay off of all 64 employees at the Auburn facility. Another 50+ would be let go from other locations.
The layoffs would happen at the end of July, or early August, according to the filings.
Auburn Armature’s website says the company is a “$100 million-plus company” that has been in business for nearly 70 years. It sells electrical equipment to industrial end users, original equipment manufacturers and the construction industry.
