Traffic stop leads to possession charge in Seneca Falls

On Sunday around 2:58 am a pair of Waterloo residents were arrested by Seneca Falls Police after a traffic stop was conducted on Chapel St.

Officers say that Mark P. Pontius, 53, and Kristie L. Pontius, 41 โ€” both of Waterloo โ€” were arrested after a traffic stop where the operator of the vehicle failed to signal.

Officers say the vehicle also had a cracked windshield.

Following the traffic stop โ€” the pair were found to be in possession of heroin, and Kristie Pontius, was found to also be possessing marijuana.

She was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana. While he was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and traffic violations.

They were processed and released. The charges will be answered in Seneca Falls Town Court on May 1st.
