The slogan, “Propelling Ontario County Forward,” underscores what the information contained in the county Office of Economic Development’s annual report for 2016.
“Opportunity is growing and wages are rising here in Ontario County, a top performer once again in New York state,” said Mike Manikowski, the county’s longtime economic developer. “We are proud to stand out as one of the only counties in the region that has seen employment growth and population increases in recent years.”
In 2016, Manikowski said support from the Office of Economic Development created or retained more than 500 jobs in the county, with private- and public-sector investment of more than $45.7 million. He pointed to several success stories from last year:
