Waterloo man charged after failing to appropriately report income

A 35-year-old Waterloo man was charged with second-degree offering a false instrument for filing more than a year after he allegedly submitted a SNAP application with false information.

Deputies in Ontario County say that Christopher Rice, 35, of Waterloo was arrested based on an investigation, which took place in January of 2016.

They say he submitted an application for SNAP benefits, which contained false information. He incorrectly reported his income and said that he was not employed.

However, deputies say Rice was employed at the time and receiving income.

He was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge at a later date.
