A three week investigation into drugs resulted in an arrest on Wednesday around 9:30 pm in Penn Yan, according to local law enforcement.
Officers say Ashley A. Rivas, 26, of Dresden was arrested after a three week drug investigation stemming from a traffic stop on Keuka St. on March 24th.
On March 24th officers had stopped a vehicle owned by Rivas after officers observed a male subject with a suspended license operating the vehicle on Elm St. During the search of the vehicle, officers found a bag of hypodermic syringes in the vehicle.
Officers also located cocaine on the male subject during that investigation. After that date officers attempted to find Rivas to issue a traffic ticket for the March 24th incident but she was on the run from local law enforcement due to a probation violation warrant.
It was later determined that Rivas was hiding out at a Comstock Rd. address and the Yates County Sheriff’s Office located her, taking her into custody at that location.
She was remanded to the Yates County Jail for violating probation. She was also charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and facilitating an aggravated unlicensed operation.
