Two have been charged in connection with a string of thefts in Canandaigua, according to police.
On April 11th, 2017, at approximately 3:29 am the Canandaigua Police Department arrested Margaret R. Cole, 23, and Todd D. Blauvelt Jr., 24, for two counts of petit larceny, conspiracy in the sixth degree, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Blauvelt was further charged with aggravated unlicensed operation.
It is alleged that the defendants took a vehicle without the owner’s permission and used that vehicle to commit numerous larcenies in the City of Canandaigua, and possibly throughout the Ontario County area.
The defendants were arraigned in Ontario County Court and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. They are due to reappear in court at a later date.
The Canandaigua Police Department has recovered property that is believed to be stolen, and are looking to identify the rightful owners.
The police department is asking that anyone who is missing property from their vehicles, garages, sheds or outside storage areas to please contact the Canandaigua City Police Department.
Some of the property that was recovered includes, but is not limited to, a horse saddle, work tools, a chainsaw, a child’s bicycle and miscellaneous fishing equipment.
