The Lyons community will participate in the 14th annual Erie Canal Clean Sweep on Saturday, April 22.
The day will begin at 8:30 with coffee, juice, fruit, doughnuts, and Canal Clean Sweep tee shirts, according to one of the organizers, Bob Stopper of the Lyons Erie Canalway Greeters.
Volunteers will trim shrubs, remove litter and debris, pull weeds, and clean the dock and canal bank between the Route 14 Bridge and Lock 27.
Volunteers will also clean the canalway bike trail from the dock to Abbey Park. The work session will end at 11:30 a.m. with pizza, prizes and surprises.
