HWS honors ‘Coupon Queen’ Lillian Collins with Community Service Award

Lillian Collins, the “Coupon Queen,” has been honored by Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

Collins, of Geneva, was given the HWS Trustee Community Service Award by President Mark Gearan in a ceremony held March 25.

She began her HWS career as a secretary in the Office of Publications in 1967, and by the time she retired in 2011, she had risen to the position of senior research specialist in the Office of Advancement Services.

Collins also served generations of HWS students and Geneva residents as the “Coupon Queen,” an unofficial title bestowed on her in admiration for the countless welcome baskets and care packages she gave out.
