A potential state budget deal may include a two-year extension of the millionaires’ tax, higher tuition assistance for SUNY students and an incentive to encourage local governments to share services, lawmakers said Tuesday.
The sides were still working out the final pieces of a roughly $152 billion budget after the April 1 deadline passed without an agreement in place.
The Republican-led Senate planned to start voting on budget bills Tuesday night, and some lawmakers detailed the proposals. Many of the budget bills had yet to be printed Tuesday night.
