Though many at the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce’s State of the County address were expecting to be serenaded by Keith Batman, it didn’t happen — or, at least, not to last year’s extent. The chairman of the Cayuga County Legislature had many things to cover Thursday afternoon including the vacant county administrator position and water quality issues.
“The county, just as the city, is moving forward,” Batman said, following the State of the City of Auburn presentation. “Progress is achieved in many ways. Chief among these are serendipity, good luck, dumb luck. And we’ve always had our share of those, and I hope always will. But more intentionally we move forward by planning.”
