Cayuga County is working to hire two different advisers — one to assist with assessing the roles and responsibilities of the county administrator position and one to complete an organizational assessment of the county.
Chairman Keith Batman said he believes the Legislature is close to hiring an individual to consult on the county administrator position. Former administrator Suzanne Sinclair resigned from her post on March 10 due to "personal reasons," according to the negotiated settlement.
Following the acceptance of her resignation, legislators voted on Feb. 28 to hire a consultant to help them reflect on the position. Sinclair is the third administrator since 2006.
