Cuomo: Auburn, CNY hospitals will lose $57M if GOP health care bill passes

If the Republicans' attempt to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act is successful, Gov. Andrew Cuomo says hospitals in central New York would lose millions in funding.

An analysis conducted by the state Department of Health found the six hospitals in U.S. Rep. John Katko's district, which covers Cayuga, Onondaga, Wayne and a portion of Oswego County, would lose $57.7 million if the American Health Care Act is approved by Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump.

The hospital that would be most affected by the legislation is SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, which would lose $37,088,043 in funding. Two other Syracuse hospitals — St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center and Crouse Hospital — would have funding slashed by $8,125,671 and $6,725,611.
