NR-W school board updated on strategic action plan

North Rose-Wolcott Central School District officials said the district is taking “major steps” to improve student academic performance.

A key part of that effort is the Strategic Action Plan. A mid-year PowerPoint update on the plan, which the district said shows the many ways it is transforming instruction, was given to the school board by the Leadership Council in February.

According to the district, the midyear-update stated the district would stay the course in implementation of the Strategic Action Plan; continue to measure impact on teacher practice and student achievement; remain student-centered in decision making; and continue to strengthen school and home partnerships. All these steps help address academic needs, said the district, which was designated a Focus District for the 2016-17 school year.
