State tourney a success in Binghamton, with lessons learned

Year One of three successive boys state basketball championships in Binghamton featured a customarily fine level of competition and well-received new wrinkles coupled, naturally, with a few glitches to be addressed.

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s final fours, staged Friday through Sunday at Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena, marked the first time a venue other than Glens Falls Civic Center played host to the event since 1981.
