The inaugural class in the Midlakes High School Graduates of Distinction program will be honored during a day of celebration on May 12.
The program was approved by the school board last year to recognize the outstanding accomplishments or lifetime achievements of Midlakes alumni. Angela Simmons, a high school history teacher and chair of the committee that established the program, said it also was created to inspire current and future Midlakes students.
