Helming seeks residents for veteran nomination

Senator Pam Helming (R, C, I-54th District) is encouraging residents from throughout the 54th Senate District to nominate veterans from their community for the 2017 New York State Senate Veterans’ Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honors and recognizes outstanding veterans from the Empire State who have distinguished themselves both in military and civilian life.

“As a State Senator with strong military family roots, I truly appreciate all that the men and women of our United States Armed Forces have done and continue to do to protect our freedoms and liberties,” said Senator Helming.

“We are very fortunate many of these extraordinary service members make their homes here in the Wayne/Finger Lakes area after leaving the military. These veterans help to strengthen our local communities and are often pillars of our region. I strongly believe it is our duty and responsibility to recognize these men and women for their dedication and commitment to our nation.”

“That is why I am proud to sponsor the 2017 New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame provides an opportunity to recognize our outstanding veterans and to formally express our deepest gratitude, respect and admiration for their service. I encourage interested community members to nominate a deserving veteran for inclusion in the 2017 NYS Senate Veterans Hall of Fame,” she continued.

To nominate a local veteran, please go to Senator Helming’s website ([email protected]), and fill out and complete the veterans’ nomination form by Thursday, April 13th, 2017. Please contact Senator Helming’s office for additional information regarding the Veterans’ Hall of Fame or if you need assistance with submitting the nomination form.

The Senate will honor these distinguished veterans from throughout the State on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at a ceremony in the State Capitol.
