The Auburn Police Department says a 24-year-old Auburn man was apprehended and charged with several felonies after allegedly raping and strangling a victim during a domestic incident.
Officers say Jarrel J. Whiten, 24, of Auburn was charged with first-degree rape, second-degree strangulation, and third-degree menacing — as well as two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief after they were called to a domestic incident on Tuesday.
Officers report that Whiten strangled, raped, and prevented a victim from calling 911 during the incident. The investigation into the incident is still underway and anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Schafer at (315) 253-3231.
Callers can remain anonymous, and additional charges are possible through the course of this investigation.
