The call for a structure fire at 17 N. Wadsworth St. came in at 6:29 pm. Shortly thereafter, crews from the Geneva Fire Department were on the scene.

While the video below depicts a chaotic scene, Geneva Fire Chief Michael Combs reports that when crews arrived — smoke and fire was showing from the second story. Photos from the scene below show the extent of the damage, as much of the left side of the two-story home is charred from the fire.

It took firefighters approximately 15 minutes to get the blaze under control, according to Chief Combs, but in that time the fire had spread throughout the second floor and even to parts of the first. There was extensive damage done to the home, as well as some minor damage done to the neighboring home — but no injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation at this time.

Video was shot and sent to FL1 News by Todd Beers as firefighters arrived at the scene.
