A Rochester man was taken into custody at the Monroe County Jail on Wednesday around 10:30 am in relation to the shooting and assault that happened at 71 Wadsworth St. in December.

The December 8th incident left two victims, identified as 43-year-old Adrian Porter and 32-year-old Reynaldo Dejesus hospitalized at Strong Memorial Hospital. Porter sustained the most-serious injuries, which resulted from a single gunshot wound. He would require multiple surgeries and a lengthy recovery at Strong.

Derrick Settles, 24, of Rochester was taken into custody without incident on Wednesday. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault — Class B felonies, two counts of second-degree assault, three counts of first-degree burglary, and four counts of fourth-degree robbery.

He was arraigned in Ontario County Court.

Authorities in Geneva say the investigation is ongoing and will likely result in one more arrest. Settles is facing other felony charges in Monroe County, according to police.
