The Canandaigua Police Department reports that Nathan E. VanBortel, 33, who is the Richmond Town Supervisor was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property — a misdemeanor.
The charge stems from an investigation into business records from his previous employer, which he did not have permission to possess.
Police say he previously worked for Canandaigua National Bank, and the documents he had did not belong to him.
He will appear in court again on March 22nd at 8:30 am.
