Turnovers key as Georgetown drops Hobart 16-6

The Georgetown University lacrosse team outscored Hobart College 7-2 in the first quarter on the way to a 16-6 victory at Pinnacle Athletic Campus this afternoon. The Hoyas improved to 2-4 while the Statesmen fall to 2-4.

Georgetown outshot Hobart 42-34 and committed seven fewer turnovers (15-8). Hobart had a 15-10 edge on faceoffs. Ground balls were even at 28-all and both teams went 1-for-3 with the extra man.

Hoya Daniel Bucaro led the way with eight points on six goals and two assists. Peter Conley added four goals and two assists and Craig Berge chipped in two goals and two assists. Jake Carraway had a goal and an assist as well as a game-high four ground balls. Nick Marrocco made 14 saves in goal, earning the win. He was aided by Michael Mayer’s game-high five caused turnovers.
