For the second time this season, the No. 12 Syracuse men’s lacrosse team (3-1, 1-0 ACC) erased a five-goal deficit over a top-12 team, downing No. 11 Virginia (4-2, 0-1 ACC) 14-13.
‘Cuse took its first lead over the Cavaliers with 15.1 seconds to go on a goal by Sergio Salcido to propel the Orange to its first conference victory of the 2017 season. Salcido (2-3), Matt Lane (3-2) and Nate Solomon (3-2) each recorded five-point efforts on the day, with Evan Molloy stopping 12 shots in cage.
Ben Williams also became the program’s all-time ground balls leader (287) with his seven on the day. He passed Joel White (283) for the program record.
