A New York State Corrections Officer has been arrested on child pornography charges.
New York State Police in Waterloo report that 46-year-old Samuel N. Ferrara of Seneca Falls possessed and shared lewd images of children using his personal computer and the internet.
Ferrara has been charged with one count of promoting an obscene sexual performance of a child, a Class D felony, and the investigation is ongoing, with more charges possible.
He was arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
Ferrara is currently employed as a State Corrections Officer at the Willard Drug Treatment Campus in Ovid. His status as a Corrections Officer is unknown at this time.
New York State Police were assisted in the investigation by the Seneca Falls Police Department, and the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children.
