Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s latest proposal would end child marriage in New York.
A bill unveiled by Cuomo Tuesday would raise the age of consent to marry from 14 to 18. Anyone under the age of 17 would be prohibited from getting married and parental and judicial written permission would be required if an individual is between 17 and 18 years old.
