The search for Gearan’s successor continues at HWS

Winners attract winners, and losers have a tendency to attract losers.

It’s the difference between coaching the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills.

In the case of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, there has been a whole lot more winning than losing during the 17 years that Mark Gearan has served as president, at least officials at the Colleges believe.

That’s also why they believe there has been a bevy of talented administrators looking to succeed Gearan when his tenure comes to a close in June. Like over 500, said Cathy Williams, vice president of communications at HWS.
