Hemlock man charged with animal cruelty

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and Humane Society investigated an alleged incident involving four pigs that were left in a barn stall for at least three days, from February 14th through 17th without food or water at 6612 Gulick Road in the Town of South Bristol.

Fletcher Carter, 23, of Hemlock was arrested on two related charges.

The pigs and two cats were seized by the Humane Society and are under their care. The owner of the animals, Mr. Carter, claimed to be out of town for the three days. He was arrested and charged with failure to provide food and water to an impounded animal and animal cruelty.

He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in South Bristol Town Court to answer the charges.
