Fast start, late stand earns Hobart 16-15 win

The Hobart College lacrosse team got off to a fast start against Siena College and made a late defense stand to escape the Pinnacle Athletic Campus with a 16-15 win. The Statesmen evened their record at 1-1, while the Saints slip to 0-2.

Senior Frank Brown produced three goals and a career-high three assists for a career-high six points to lead Hobart. Classmate Max Romm netted a game-high four goals and sophomore Chris Aslanian added a goal and three assists. Junior J. Andrew Spallanzani won 11-of-20 faceoffs with three ground balls and sophomore Matthew Pedicine was 7-of-14 at the X. Pedicine and sophomore Stanny Gilbertson shared team-high honors with four ground balls apiece as the Statesmen had a 28-24 edge over Siena. Sophomore Tristan Dougherty earned the win in goal with 10 saves.
